The Forum is open to everyone, including students, visitors, and faculty members from all departments and institutes!

The 60 minute lecture is followed by a 10 minute break and a 30-60 minute discussion. The language of presentation is English or Hungarian.
The scope of the Forum includes all aspects of theoretical philosophy, including:
  • logic and philosophy of formal sciences
  • philosophy of science
  • modern metaphysics
  • epistemology
  • philosophy of language
  • problems in history of philosophy and history of science, relevant to the above topics
  • particular issues in natural and social sciences, important for the discourses in the main scope of the Forum.

 Az idő helye Wittgenstein Tractatusában
(The space for time in Wittgenstein's Tractatus)
A filozófia klasszikusainak sorában a Tractatus az utolsó mű, amely egyetemes rendszer alkotására tesz kísérletet. Előadásomban azt a kérdést fogom feltenni és megválaszolni, hogy elfér-e az idő ebben a rendszerben. Nem arról lesz szó, hogy a Tractatus Wittgensteinje mit gondolt az időbeliségről. Hanem arról, hogy a Tractatus alapelveinek betartásával lehet-e koherens módon számot adni (1) a temporális kijelentések értelméről; és (2) a szubjektum jelenbeliségének és örökkévalóságának viszonyáról. Míg az első probléma a Tractatus logikai-metafizikai törzséhez tartozik, a második a mű egzisztenciális-etikai konklúziójához. Ez mutatja, hogy az időbeliség látszólag partikuláris (és a szakirodalomban elhanyagolt) problémájadöntően befolyásolja a mű egészének értelmezését és értékelését.
